Home Slice Pizza

Come one, come all to the greatest birthday on Earth...

Home Slice Pizza is ONE YEAR OLD this fall, and to celebrate, we’re hosting a back yard pizza carnival featuring all the marvels of the pizza world.

WHAT: Home Slice-o-Rama Pizza Carnival

WHEN: Saturday, December 2, from 12-5pm at the Slice.

HOW MUCH: Admission is free; booths, games and drinks cost tickets. All carnival proceeds to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.

You won’t want to miss this wonder of wonders, including:

Old School Pizza Eating Contest
Great gastronomique! How many Home Slice slices can you eat in 30 minutes? Winner receives the fabulous prize of an entire year of free Home Slice Pizza.

To enter, show up at 2pm on Saturday to sign in and pay the $10 entrance fee. There’s only room for 10 big eaters so come early to get a spot in the competition (first come, first served). The contest starts at 4pm.

Amazing International Pizza Tossing Acrobats
Witness the incredible edible acrobatics of the World Pizza Team, who have competed most recently in the 2006 World Pizza Championship in Salsomaggiore, Italy, and have appeared on TV on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The Today Show and the Food Network. For a sneak preview of their dough tossing dexterity, visit their website. Performances will take place throughout the day.

City-wide Hand Tossing Challenge
We’re so proud of the old school way we throw our dough that we want to give our fellow pizzerias a chance to join us in the spotlight. It’s a friendly little competition to see how we measure up to the other guys in three categories: speed, size and style. We’ve sent invitations to the other pizzerias in town to send us their best. Are you a hand tosser who wants to strut your stuff? Get your wrists ready and show up at 2:30pm to enter.

Hands on a Eggplant Sub
You’ve seen the documentary where the Texas truck fanatics touched a Nissan hard body until the last one standing, won it? Well this is the same thing, except with an eggplant sub. Last one touching the bun wins something almost as good as a truck, like a new iPod Nano!

Great Calzoni the Slice Reader
You’ve heard of psychics that read palms, tarot cards, tea leaves? Well the Great Calzoni can see your future by gazing into your slice o pie. Don’t be afraid to find out what your pizza portends.

Roving Musical Entertainers
It wouldn’t be a carnival without festive accordion music. The Just Desserts will entertain the mob along with singer/songwriter Jerm Pollet of Sinus Show and Total Foxes fame.
